It's good that you want to learn how to build a pole shed. It's good because it is very economical to build and takes less time than any other shed construction.

Unlike most other sheds, Pole sheds are super simple to construct. You dig holes, put in the poles, get the roof on top and put on walls if that's what you like. And that's just about it.

When you want to build a pole shed you need to know how big you want it to be. It can be anything from a small shed to a huge pole barn.

Most of the time you put the poles in the ground, specially if your shed is mid size or big. It can however be free floating if it is small. This is one of the reasons why you need to know how big you want your shed.

Digging deep holes that go below frost level is the best way to go. Even if you only have a small shed. It's worth the extra few bucks and time as it will make the shed much stronger.

Before anything you need to find a good place for you pole shed. You should put it where the ground drains well and does not retain water. This will keep moisture out of your shed.

When you know how big you want your shed and where you can start sketching it. Personally I would recommend that you buy good plans instead of sketching it yourself. Doing so you will get you a strong shed that not only looks good but will last for years. A good plan is not expensive and it should include materials list and step-by-step instructions. This will help you buy the right materials and only what you need (save you money) and the instructions will help you build the shed really fast.

Do you have a building permit? Maybe you don't need one but it is always better to be sure so contact your local authorities to check if you need one and then apply for it.

With good plans in one hand and materials list in the other you go visit your local hardware store and lumber yard. If you want to save and trouble you buy everything on the list in one trip. It's so boring when you have to be constantly going to the store for some little things that you forgot or decided to wait to buy.

When you have all the materials ready on spot, good plans in your hands and all the tools where you need them you can start on your pole shed. How and where to begin is the next big question. Well that depends on the plans you bought, what do the easy to follow, step-by-step instructions say? :)
