Ruth Handler developed Barbie and presented her to the world for the first time at the American International Toy Fair in New York City on March 9, 1959. Barbie received overnight fame and she soon was being sold all around the world. She could be seen wearing many beautiful and stylish outfits with her thin figure and long hair.
